Robbery crew in NYC stole ATMs, cash from 49 stores across city: police

A group of robbers is currently being sought after by authorities in New York City for a string of burglaries targeting 49 stores across Upper Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. The burglaries, which took place between September 19 and December 26, involved the theft of ATMs and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.
According to police reports, the robbers operated as a trio, stealing ATMs from inside the stores and making off with cash and other goods before fleeing in stolen getaway cars. The total dollar amount stolen from the ATMs over the three-month period is currently unknown, but the group did manage to steal $40,000 in cash from two robberies in September.
Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows two unidentified suspects carrying an ATM out of a store, highlighting the brazen nature of the burglaries. Despite the release of the footage, no arrests have been made in connection with the burglaries.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in the burglary spree. The NYPD Crime Stoppers program is offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
As of December 29, 2024, public police data shows a 6% decrease in reported burglaries citywide compared to the same period in 2023. However, the recent string of burglaries highlights the ongoing need for increased vigilance and security measures to combat crime in New York City.
The investigation into the robbery crew is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
