NRCC launches ad campaign targeting dozens of vulnerable Dems who voted against key Trump proposal

House Republicans have taken a significant step towards advancing President Donald Trump’s tax agenda, with the passage of a key budget resolution on Thursday. This move was made without the support of any Democrats, prompting the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) to launch a paid digital advertising campaign targeting vulnerable Democrat incumbents who voted against the resolution.

The NRCC’s paid digital ad campaign is aimed at 25 House Democrats who are considered vulnerable heading into next year’s midterm elections. These Democrats include Josh Harder, Adam Gray, George Whitesides, Derek Tran, Dave Min, Darren Soto, Jared Moskowitz, Frank Mrvan, Jared Golden, Kristen McDonald Rivet, Don Davis, Nellie Pou, Gabe Vasquez, Dina Titus, Susie Lee, Steven Horsford, Tom Suozzi, Laura Gillen, Josh Riley, Marcy Kaptur, Emilia Sykes, Henry Cuellar, Vicente Gonzalez, Eugene Vindman, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

According to NRCC spokesperson Mike Marinella, House Democrats are prioritizing their radical agenda over the well-being of American families by voting against the resolution. The ad campaign aims to highlight how these Democrats are supporting higher taxes for Americans and the slashing of key tax credits.

In response, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has criticized the NRCC’s campaign, accusing Republicans of prioritizing tax breaks for the wealthy at the expense of working families. The DCCC argues that the Republican budget will result in higher costs for Americans while cutting essential services like healthcare and food assistance.

Despite facing political headwinds in the upcoming midterm elections, NRCC chair Rep. Richard Hudson remains optimistic about the Republicans’ chances. He believes that the party is on the offensive, especially in districts that were carried by President Trump in the last election. Hudson sees the midterms as an “opportunity election” for House Republicans and is confident in their ability to secure victory.

The Cook Political Report has identified several Democrat-held and Republican-controlled seats as toss-ups for the next midterm elections, indicating a competitive political landscape. While Democrats are hopeful about their chances in 2026, Republicans are determined to regain control of the House and push forward with President Trump’s tax agenda.

In conclusion, the battle for control of the House is heating up, with both parties gearing up for a fierce campaign ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The NRCC’s ad campaign targeting vulnerable Democrat incumbents is a clear indication of the intense political competition that lies ahead. Voters will ultimately decide the outcome, holding both parties accountable for their policies and priorities.
